One double chair and a rope tow in 1998. Now 14 trails, four lifts, and lights on the lower mountain.
Our story
A town hill since 1998
Coldsmoke opened in 1998 with one double chair and a rope tow the founders put together in a ranch shop. The rope tow is gone. A poma replaced it in 2011, the two carpets went in for the snow school, and the lights on the lower mountain came a few years later. It is still a small hill. The lodge does chili and hot chocolate, the lift line is rarely more than a few chairs deep, and a lot of kids in town learn to ski here before they ever ride a gondola.
